Septic systems may need to be removed and possibly relocated for a variety of reasons. Whether it be because of a septic tank failure or your excavation project requires the tank to be relocated, North Jersey Excavation is here to make that process as easy as possible for you.
After we locate the septic tank, we will begin excavating either with an excavator or a backhoe until we reach the top of septic tank. Then, the septic inside of the tank will have to be pumped out and disposed of by licensed professionals before the excavating process can continue.
Once the excavation process can proceed, the dirt or soil surrounding the sides of the tank must be dug out very cautiously until it is deep enough where we can get to the bottom of the tank. During this step in the process, we take extreme caution to make sure we don’t break the pipes leading in and out of the septic tank.
After the area surrounding the sides of the tank is dug out, the pipes are cut away from the tank and sealed so that there is no leakage. Once the pipes are removed and discarded, our team will secure the tank to the backhoe or a crane and remove it from the hole we just excavated.
Depending on if the septic tank is being replaced or relocated, the new tank can either be put in the hole as quickly as possible, or we can fill the hole back up with the excavated soil, dirt, or rocks.
